My mother was admitted here for rehabilitation after her knee replacement surgery, and our experience has been truly positive. The entire team — from the physiotherapists and nurses to the support staff — was caring, professional, and attentive to her needs. The physiotherapy sessions were well structured and personalized, helping her regain strength and confidence much faster than we expected. The therapists were patient and encouraging, always making sure she didn’t overexert herself while still pushing her to make steady progress. The facility was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The staff also made sure she had nutritious meals and that all her medical needs were monitored closely. Communication was great — we were regularly updated on her progress and any changes to her care plan. Thanks to the dedication and warmth of the rehab team, my mom is now walking independently and doing so much better. We’re deeply grateful for the wonderful care she received and would highly recommend this center to anyone looking for post-surgery orthopedic rehabilitation.
My parents were admitted to AristaCare at Cedar Oaks in March 2022. In the beginning, things went well. They were placed on the 1st floor, where the staff was caring, attentive, and professional. We had no major complaints at that stage. Everything changed after my father passed away suddenly in November 2023. My mother was moved to the 2nd floor (Willow Wing), and the quality of her care declined drastically. At first, things seemed okay, but my mother’s health quickly worsened. She was already dealing with the effects of a prior stroke, illness, and grief. She became immobile, which meant she needed more care, not less — yet that’s exactly when the attentiveness seemed to disappear. The difference between the 1st and 2nd floors was like night and day. While a few staff members were compassionate, many seemed indifferent, even disrespectful. Some berated her for not being able to speak clearly — despite her stroke and the fact that English wasn’t her first language. Ironically, some of those same staff members struggled with English themselves. Even more disturbing, my mother was physically mishandled more than once. When I raised concerns, the nurse in charge simply reassigned the aide instead of addressing the behavior. That aide continued caring for other vulnerable residents — which is deeply concerning. The neglect extended beyond personal treatment. The facility itself is in poor condition and badly in need of repairs. My mother’s bed could not be properly raised — a serious safety and comfort issue for someone immobile. Despite repeated requests, it took over a month to replace it. Basic hygiene was also neglected. She was often left in soiled diapers for hours, leading to repeated UTIs and unnecessary suffering. This was not an isolated incident — I observed other residents in similar situations. A particularly alarming practice I witnessed repeatedly was staff placing the emergency call button cord on the far side of the bed — completely out of reach for someone with mobility issues. This could be life-threatening if a patient needs immediate help. Sadly, my mother passed away in December 2024 while still at AristaCare. If you are considering AristaCare at Cedar Oaks, know that the quality of care varies greatly depending on the floor or wing your loved one is placed in. The Willow Wing experience was completely unacceptable. To the owners and management: I strongly urge you to investigate what is happening on the 2nd floor and throughout the facility. Your most vulnerable residents deserve safety, respect, and dignity — not neglect and indifference. Families entrust you with their loved ones. Please live up to that responsibility.
We, the family of Majulaben D Patel sincerely appreciate the services she received from most of the personnel who took care of her. Especially those, who attended her needs of personal hygiene, the 🇭🇹 Haitian staff. Also those who looked after her other needs for happiness like prayers, exercises and personal requirements by Mudrikaben, Meghaben, Arunaben and Heminaben. We can never undervalue what Rinaben, Prachi and Kady did for keeping her healthy. This Center also provided her Gujarati food suitable to her liking. In short, she spent her last four years in the best Care Home in New Jersey and according to our friends from other states best in U.S.A. Thank you all.
Highly organized and well run facility! Staff on the 2nd floor are amazing! They took care of my mom and dad as their own... Aruna, Rina, Mrudika, Mega, Bhavanaben, Mary just to name few... They are Godsend... They are all compassionate and take care of all Bas and Dadas so well. Kudos to all and keep up the same spirits...
my father was admitted to this facility on the 1st floor to receive physical therapy and help him walk again on 10/17/25. The 1st day he was there, he fell - that night me and mom witnessed another resident fall right in front us do to neglect. After the first fall and us reporting the other gentleman falling while staff passed by him, my dad was supposed to be on 24 hr watch but again he fell. He has low platelets in his blood which cause him to bleed out and bruise easy so falling is a huge risk. after that, several times we came to visit him he was visibly destressed (hanging over the side in his chair , food all over his mouth and clothes) me and mom had to help sit him up as staff members just passed by. All the staff does is park the residents in a corner and leave them there all day - within 2 weeks of him being there, he had declined instead of improving. on 10/30/25 me and my mom arrived, my dad was in the corner in his chair as always with a nurse trying to force him medicine and food even though he was not responding. His mouth was just hanging open and his eyes had a blank stare he couldn't move or talk. The nurse stated he was just waking up and she wasn't sure why he wasn't really responding. HE WAS BARELY BREATHING AND GOING IN AND OUT OF CONSCIOUSNESS! I was shaking him and yelling out for him and he was not responding. Instead of calling 911, the nurse said she was "calling the doctor" I HAD TO CALL 911 MYSELF. while we waited for the ambulance absolutely no staff came to check on my father. My mother was the only one by his side trying to keep him conscious. The EMTs arrived in about 20 minutes - no staff checked on him or tried to help the whole time. The nurse who was trying to "call the doctor" now stated she was going call 911. this is 20 minutes later! The ambulance was already pulling up. My father was admitted to the ICU. he was extremely dehydrated and suffering from a severe infection. It has been a week and he still is unable to talk. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS HERE. My family is traumatized! My dad would not have made it that night if me and my mom did not discovery him and call 911.
