My stepfather is currently in this facility doing rehab, or was supposed to be, until he is strong and well enough to go home. He has been there for almost 3 weeks and in that time has deteriorated to the point that he can no longer sit up in a wheelchair. He has waited over 4 hours after pressing the call button for a nurse, and has also used his own cell phone to call the front desk to ask them to come answer his call bell. He has a feeding tube that often gets blocked with alarms, the response time is AWFUL. He also has a catheter so also needs help getting to the potty- he is a fall risk- he has waiting so long for help to potty that he's unhooked his feeding tube himself and took the chance of falling to get there himself because he could not wait ANY longer. And if we are honest, if he had an accident bc of waiting, he'd probably sit it it FOREVER. I visit practically daily, and so does his brother, and still his care has been nothing but a complete and total disappointment. I feel he is giving up, he's wasting away, and I blame this facility ENTIRELY.
My Stepdad was here for a little while and my mom spent hours there everyday with him. While he was there his cellphone came up missing and we all know what that means. The Aide my mom told was very rude to her told her it was her own fault for leaving it there and never told her to tell anyone else probably cause she took it. In the long run it cost my mom $300 on top of a ton of medical bills and funeral costs. My stepdad used his phone for sports and news and to talk to family. He was a young guy and knew what was going on not that any one should be treated any differently. But I guess they don’t feel their residents deserve respect. This is why they always have open beds. Please be aware. I also like how owner responded to a good review and most good ones are from years ago.
Horrible.. if I had to stay in a place like this I’d rather die and I mean it !!! I could never !!! Yeah very bad experience, you have no idea. I will never bring my loved ones to a place like this ever ! There is a RN that should retire . Very nasty person .. the way she talks and treats the patients there should never. Hate to see ppl who are there cause they need money . Karma
I recently spent time in rehab at your facility. Thank you for your assistance in getting me well enough to return home. I can't say enough about the quality of care I received. The rehab staff patiently helped me to obtain my goals. PATIENTLY. Their visits were something to which to look forward. An example: I mentioned to Darline how I lived in my recliner. She rearranged the furniture to give me use of a recliner. Quality care with a personal touch. I never waited for a response to the call bell. Quickly and with a pleasant attitude always. Unfortunately, I was not eating much while I was there. I enjoyed the food and beverage I ate. A nice variety. I'm sure the long term patients enjoy the variety. I spent a long time at Hamot with some serious issues. I was so happy to be able to receive the quality care needed so close to home. Again, I can't say enough good about your facility and staff. Thank you for everything.
My mother went in for rehab and two weeks later, her arm was broken when putting her to bed. It was not documented until the next day when I was visiting her. In the ER, they did a full workup and her sodium was 121, causing weakness and confusion. I had expressed concern over her confusion several times and was dismissed. Thankfully we were able to get her transferred to another facility. The care plan meeting was never set up properly either.
