We toured 7 different properties looking for a place mom would walk in and just know in her heart "this is it". Our tour with Haylee was so fabulous. She's clearly passionate about caring for seniors and working with Morningstar. She answered every question we had thoroughly, as did all of the staff we met. The residents we talked to during our tour all loved living there and expressed hope that Mom would join them. Truly touching. To top off our experience, the perfect room was opening up...so we signed up and now Mom wakes up counting the days till she can move in! Card players...mahjong players...Wii bowlers...watch out, here she comes! My mom had lived in another retirement home for 10 years and had moved in with my husband and me when the pandemic hit. Now it's time for her to have the activities she misses and become more active again. Morningstar of Hillsboro offers everything one could want for my mom, and I have the peace of mind that she'll be very well treated. I also love that as she ages, she'll have access to caregivers she can bring in that can provide that extra bit of she may need.

Highly recommend! My mother moved in over a year ago and has had a very lovely transition to senior community life! The staff is very friendly and accommodating - they know each and every resident well. There are daily non-stop versatile and fun activities planned out on a monthly basis. Food is very good with lots of choices and kitchen staff is kind and accommodating. The building and decor is beautiful and kept immaculately, too!

I watched MorningStar being built from the ground up and said to my husband before it was even finished that is the place we are going to live and have not regretted that decision. The staff here are wonderful and have become like family to us as well as the residents. We have gracious, caring 24 hr concierges led by the amazing Mika. Administration, Sales, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Culinary, Dining room servers, Life Enrichment and Transportation work endlessly to give us our best life. Come in for a tour and see the wonderful place we call home.

More than two years ago I gave Morningstar 5 stars. The services provided to residents have deteriorated so significanty that I can only justify 1 star. There have been VERY SIGNIFICANT DECLINES in the following areas: * Management capability * Respect for residents * Food quality * Maintenance * Housecleaning * Truthful communications In addition, management personnel have retaliated against residents who provided honest feedback. BEWARE. Morningstar is not the faith-based, principled organization it once seemed to be.
