In My Mothers Words: Since my move to the Lexington in Aug. of 23 "I am Happy"with my surroundings! "I am well taken care of by the staff!" The food is GOOD and MY HOME is clean! "I FEEL SAFE!" Those words spoken fron My nearly 95 Yr. old Mother
It is not the same as it was years ago. Under-paid and understaffed and many personal items are taken from residents' rooms. There is a huge turnaround between employees and residents. Many staff members spend most of their time on their phones or shopping on Amazon. The facility is more concerned with $ to fill the rooms rather than the proper care these residents need in a nursing home. Many years ago, I would have put a family member there. Now, I would go elsewhere.
I lived at the Lexington for a year and half until out of the blue the director came to my room and told me I had one day to move out. The reason she told me that I was overheard calling the staff babes when talking to four gentlemen at our dinner table who were all hard of hearing and I had to speak loud.i had never had a complaint before and I and my family were shocked but I was told this happens all the time when your on Medicaid by others who were kicked out of the Lexington. One of the night managers their was constantly trying to steal my antidepressants also would drink alcohol from my room. I also had food, clothing missing from my room. The food there was average cold sandwiches are often served for supper and have one slice of meat. My family was constantly bringing me food because of such small portions were were servedThey have a lot of turnover of staff who mostly complain about low wages and not enough working hours. I bought a twenty thousand dollar power chair to shop with and they told me I couldn't leave the grounds and if I did I would be removed for not falling the rules. Their van cannot carry people in wheelchairs which leaves to the family to take your loved one to the Dr.They like the residents just to sit in their rooms and watch TV and once your loved starts to need lots of assistance they kick them out. If you love your love one there are far better places than the Lexington I would not recommend this place to anyone... Billy
Staff and Owners are amazing. Treat residents like family.
My father lived there for a while, and we have nothing but good things to say about The Lexington! The staff were all wonderful, and the building and grounds very nicely kept. I would recommend this place to anyone.
