Pacific Gardens
Pacific Gardens is a licensed residential care elderly located in Santa Clara, California. Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly (RCFE) provide non-medical care and supervision in a homelike setting for people 60 years and older who are unable to live independently.
Pacific Gardens has a licensed capacity of 104 residents. Services include assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and medication management. RCFEs also provide meals, housekeeping, laundry, social activities, and 24-hour supervision. Many offer specialized care for residents with memory impairment.
Who We Serve: RCFEs serve older adults who need assistance with daily activities but do not require 24-hour skilled nursing care. Residents may include those with early to mid-stage dementia, mobility limitations, or chronic health conditions.
Licensing: RCFEs in California are typically licensed by the Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services under Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations.
Payment Options: In California, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the Assisted Living Waiver (ALW). Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria. Contact California Department of Health Care Services or visit https://www.dhcs.ca.gov/services/ltc/Pages/AssistedLivingWaiver.aspx to learn about eligibility requirements and how to apply. Wait lists are common for waiver programs, so applying early is recommended.
Families researching assisted living options should verify the facility's current license status, review any inspection reports, and schedule a visit to assess whether the environment and services meet their loved one's needs. You can verify this facility's license and view inspection reports at California's facility search. For more information about assisted living regulations in California, visit California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

Because she needed 24 hour supervision, my lovely 98 year old Mother with a sweet form of dementia found a home and friends at Pacific Gardens. She is thriving there! The staff is wonderful, the accommodations are lovely and homey, and I very much appreciate the way the staff cares for both the physical needs and also the dignity of the people in their care. In addition, they set up the activity room so the family could gather and celebrate my Mom's birthday privately ... and they decorated the room so festively, which was a very nice surprise. Then yesterday for Thanksgiving, Pacific Gardens put on a feast for families that rivaled the quality at any restaurant, six of us gathered at a sunny table together and had a wonderful time. The layout for Memory Care is wonderful with private bedrooms and freedom within the Memory Care section, with hourly checks. We are so very glad that we found Pacific Gardens. It has been a huge relief to us to find a place my Mom feels at home and valued. Special thanks to Mary Jane, my Mom's companion. My Mom loves her and so do we.
Moving my dad to Pacific Gardens in Santa Clara was the best thing I could have ever done for him! The entire staff, both administrative and medical, are outstanding and very caring! All my dad has to do is press the button on the pendent he wears and his caregiver or nurse comes to see what he needs. It gives me a lot of comfort and peace of mind to know he is getting this kind of “around the clock” care! All of the staff and residents are very friendly and welcoming to each other and to new residents. The meals that are offered to the residents are OUTSTANDING and unbelievably DELICIOUS!! There is a lot of variety and they are nutritious. If my dad doesn’t want or like what is being served, there is an alternate menu for him to choose something else. There are 17 other items for my dad to choose from. They also offer sugar free items and can cater to other dietary restrictions. Residents can either eat in their room or in the Main Dining Room. They also have a private dining room where a resident and his/her family can come to eat with them or to celebrate a special occasion. Residents at Pacific Gardens have a variety of activities to participate in. A monthly Activities calendar is provided to each resident. They even have a movie theater that plays a different movie every day. Pacific Gardens has an exercise class for residents to join in on as well as a physical therapy program, but this program is at additional cost to the resident and is done by an outside company. Residents are encouraged to eat in the dining room and to participate in the activities so that they get the social interaction they need. My dad is a WWII Veteran and earned a Purple Heart when his plane was shot down over Yugoslavia on his 19th birthday. Pacific Gardens has a Veterans Wall where veteran residents can have this picture in uniform hung on the wall as a tribute to all veterans. If you are looking for a GREAT place to move a loved one to, you won’t regret checking it out. Pacific Gardens really feels like home and I HIGHLY recommend it!!!
Pacific Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care truly stands out as a welcoming and vibrant community. Their dedication to making residents feel at home is evident in everything they do. The variety of activities, like cooking demos with Chef Joseph and their annual Walk to the Neighborhood for Alzheimer's awareness, shows how much they prioritize engagement and purpose for residents. The staff clearly go above and beyond to create a nurturing environment, from organizing live performances to providing exceptional dining experiences. The sense of community and care is unmatched, and it’s wonderful to see families and staff working together to create meaningful memories. If you’re looking for a place where your loved ones will feel cared for, connected, and part of a vibrant community, Pacific Gardens is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
Pacific Gardens is an extraordinary place. You cannot find a facility so well managed, and a staff as professional, respectful, and kind anywhere else. Whether you are looking for a place for yourself or a loved one, you will find excellent care and service here. The rooms are sunny, and the food is tasty. Each month they have a variety of activities. They also offer transportation to residents to medical and dental appointments. The care staff and nursing staff come to know and care about the residents and their families -- right down to little things like favorite treats or snacks, and favorite composers. They attend to the residents in ways that only family members would. Most of the staff has been at Pacific Gardens for years, which says a great deal about the place, given the usual turn over rate at care facilities. The staff here has a vocation -- to care for the residents. And they shine.
Because of my wife's declining condition I had researched and looked at and number of local Assisted Living facilities. When it came time for the move I believed Pacific Gardens was the right place for her. After she was there for just a short while I KNEW it was the right place. They made my wife, and myself, feel welcome and part of the family from day one. A nice, clean facility, she had a comfortable, well equipped room. The outside area in the back is beautiful and comfortable. The food is EXCELLENT with GREAT variety. Lots of activities with the friendly staff encouraging everyone to participate. Seeing staff members "dancing" with residents when singers were performing was a blast. When my wife needed to be put into hospice care she was able to stay in her room and there was a seamless interaction with the caregivers. Pacific Gardens is a GREAT collection of CARING people from top to bottom. Treating everyone with respect, treating everyone as part of the family. This is my way of saying THANK YOU to everyone there for taking such good care of my wife.
