My husband and I met and toured with Teresa at American House. This was one of quite a few location facilities we toured to assist a friend in finding the right place for her parents. I cannot say enough about how impressed we were with the facility. Having had the same tasks for our own family members in different states, we are aware of the good and the bad. American house was impressive. Costs are as you would expect. Assisted living rooms are very nice. Services are plentiful. I love how the pool and outside area is centralized with the building around it - for security and easy access. Theresa was incredibly well informed and easy to talk to. I would recommend touring this facility if you are in the market. You won't be disappointed

My mother moved into American House in November 2024. Teresa really was a life-saver after the hurricane season, as my mother's move and decision to do so was faster than we had all hoped. Teresa helped us navigate the process with ease and after she moved in, it was a like a weight lifted off of all of our shoulders. In the subsequent months, she's made wonderful friends, enjoys the nightly dinners and has even gone out on a few "lunch bunch" trips to local restaurants. Mom is new to St. Pete, and living here has been such a big transition for her. But American House staff like Kelly, Celeste, and Ray at the front desk have helped her with all sorts of items, big and small. Ray is so awesome, that I'd call her a friend of mine now too! Staff have helped mom connect with new doctors, get rides and feel comfortable (and not isolated) when she stopped driving, and they do little things every day that make her smile. I feel so much more relaxed now that she's living in a community of fun, interesting, diverse women and men who make every day different from the one before! Mom can be as social as she wants, or just cozy up with a book in her apartment and relax. The building is safe, the elevation is out of an evacuation zone, the pool is lovely, the care is world class. The only small suggestion I would have would be for the food to use more fresh veggies and less salt. We have so many awesome farmers markets in this city, I'm sure American House could get a contract with them instead of buying from Sysco or other large distributors. But overall, it's a 10/10 because of the experience and the people. The dining staff are amazing and the servers really take care of my mom and her picky habits. If I could do it all again, I would have moved her in two years earlier!

Worse place to work. 2 managers of dinning room in less than 2 months, workers “most are kids” get paid $13 hours or less for hard labor in the dining room. Residents complain about food even they chef “tried” to make better but still bad, they pay a lot and workers don’t even get a %10 of what they should get for the job, no benefits at all. Housekeeping service are bad payed too. This company needs to increase their staff salary. People work there because they have to. Not because they want or feel comfortable working there. Residents pay a lot but staff get paid bad. Just the high rank of the staff are getting paid good as is the chef

I simply can't give enough compliments to Teresa and American House. Firstly, the place is immaculate. Spotless. When entering it has the feel of a high end resort. It is so welcoming warm and inviting. We fell in love immediately with the warm smiles of the staff. Teresa from day one was so calm, helpful and personable. She was such a comfort to myself and my mom during the whole process. It's been a week since mom moved in and she loves it!! The food is delicious, the activities are plentiful and the staff are second to none. I feel such relief knowing mom is happy and well taken care of at American House!!

I’m so grateful every day to live in such a beautiful environment as American House, St. Petersburg. From the wonderful staff to an entire community of caring residents who quickly became friends, this is a great place to call home. You’d be hard pressed to find better meals, activities or a more well-maintained environment elsewhere. I’ve never had an outside visitor come here who didn’t leave saying they’d love to live here.
