In-Home Senior Services

In Home Senior Services, Inc. was established in 1994 by Anita Francoeur as a private agency to provide in-home care and personal care services that contribute to the overall well-being of senior citizens and their families. Anita retired in 2015 and the company is now owned by Kathleen Candage and Theresa Norton. We are community oriented and work closely with various organizations such as the Alzheimer’s Association, Southern Maine Agency on Aging, community hospitals and home health agencies, hospice and elder attorneys and doctors. Our services are paid for either privately, by the Veterans Administration (VA), MaineCare and long-term care insurance policies. Our Field Staff: All Personal Support Specialists are required to complete a 50-hour training program directed by a registered nurse. We employ Personal Support Specialists, Certified Nursing Assistants and homemakers from York to Lewiston and most areas in between. The quality of In-Home Senior Services’ care is due to the excellence of our caregivers. All personal support specialists are carefully screened and trained. We employ only the most dependable, compassionate and friendly staff. Our Mission: In-Home Senior Services was formed to provide Home Care and Personal Care services that contribute to the overall well-being of senior citizens and their families. The In-Home Senior Services (IHSS) mission is to enable people the choice to stay in their own homes as alternative to nursing homes or life care housing programs. The IHSS aim is to gain consumer confidence by emphasizing a continuing commitment to high quality, compassionate services. These services will include a constant recognition to the dignity, independence and individuality of each senior person served. Our staff understands the needs and desires of our clients and we adhere to them as closely as possible. We take great pride in the level of care we offer our clients -- our greatest achievement is when our clients welcome their caregiver into their homes and treat them like family.
