Metropolitan Community Services
Metropolitan Community Services
Metropolitan Community Services is a homecare agency serving Hopkins, Minnesota and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In Minnesota, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the Minnesota Department of Health and generally must maintain a Comprehensive Home Care License or Basic Home Care License. Minnesota requires home care licensure. Basic license is for non-medical services.
Payment Options: In Minnesota, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like Elderly Waiver (EW), Alternative Care Program. These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact Minnesota Department of Human Services or visit https://mn.gov/dhs/people-we-serve/seniors/services/ to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit Minnesota Department of Health for more information about homecare services in Minnesota.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

I reached out to Metropolitan Community Services to be the CFSS provider for my son. They met with me after two months which was good, but then they ghosted me over the following two months (while I tried multiple ways to contact them every week) after they had all my son's information. They basically wasted four months of my time and made me overdue on getting a CFSS provider. There is no excuse to not respond to the weekly voicemails I left and the emails I sent to their employees asking for an update. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!!
I agree with the person that said you leave messages & never get a call back. Even when you talk to the someone she will tell you she would call back after talking to her boss about the situation. I would take weeks by me complaining. If I could give a big 0 I would. This is new to me cause you don't get far but I'm learning.
I wish I could give zero stars. They are rude and nonurgent. If you do not speak Ukrainian or Russian, good luck getting simple respect from this company. Awful services.
If I could give this place 0 stars I would! I’ve been calling for TWO months now and when someone does finally pick up the phone I’m met with “I’ll make sure she gives you a call back” just to never receive a call. Clearly they need to be taken off of the list.
As a client, I’m deeply appreciated with help that has been provided in context of MNbenefits portal. Without that agency I was not able to fill out all my paperwork properly!
