American in Home Care
American in Home Care
American in Home Care is a homecare agency serving Jacksonville, Florida and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In Florida, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration and generally must maintain a Homemaker and Companion Services Registration or Nurse Registry License. Florida requires registration for homemaker/companion services and licensure for nurse registries.
Payment Options: In Florida, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like Statewide Medicaid Managed Care Long-Term Care Program. These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact Florida Agency for Health Care Administration or visit https://ahca.myflorida.com/medicaid/statewide_mc/smmc_ltc.shtml to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit Florida Agency for Health Care Administration for more information about homecare services in Florida.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

American In-Home Care is absolutely wonderful. My family has been working with them for over a year now to help care for my Mom. After suffering several brain bleeds , she has been left with advanced dementia and is completely immobile. From the very beginning when we met with Jason, we knew we had found the right company. It’s evident that the company as a whole truly cares. All of the caregivers we’ve had have been amazing and have quickly become like family. It’s been so comforting to my whole family to have such caring support through such a difficult time. I honestly cannot say enough great things about AIHC.
Our experience with American In Home Care was very positive. With very little notice, Jason and Rebecca arranged for an excellent caregiver for a short term. Rayshawn was professional, compassionate, and intuitive in helping to care for my spouse while my spouse was recuperating from cancer surgery away from our home.
I met Maricel the Jax Recruiter as an HHA many years ago. I am a Nurse now. She’s very compassionate, good listener, efficient and I can’t say enough about her! She’s always ready to help wherever it’s needed. And helped me get my RN. I wish the company will never lose her.
The team at American In-Home Care has been amazing in not only providing support but encouragement as we care for our aging parents. This organization has provided a high level of care that addresses not only the needs of our parents but providing guidance for us as caregivers. We truly appreciate the work of the entire organization especially Shaletha when it comes to scheduling and providing the best care possible. My overall experience has been positive and we appreciate everything.
The initial visit was excellent. Customer service is great; however, the CNA's that came to my mother's home lacked professionalism. They did just enough to satisfy their day. I'm not sure if it's because the longer some are in this profession the less they want to do. They were nice but they lacked that extra motivation to really be helpful and thorough. Thorough is not simply leaving the soiled sheets on the floor, but putting them in the washer and not wanting to eat shortly after arriving. I think they could use continued training on their responsibilities. They appear so relaxed as a sitter or friendly companion would be. The price is too high for someone to sit and do their homework. Also, before you sign up with this company, check for hidden fees. We noticed if someone is coming to our home at 4:00 pm and signs their timesheet with the company at 3:50 pm you have to pay for those extra ten minutes. For example, if your CNA is scheduled at the agreed upon time of 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and they arrive at 3:50 pm make sure they leave your home at 8:50 pm. Those extra minutes add up quickly if they stay later or arrive earlier I would not recommend this company. Might be good to search around a bit more. If you need a sitter or companion, there are companies that offer these services only for far less money.
