Home Care of America
Home Care of America
Home Care of America is a homecare agency serving Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and surrounding areas. Homecare agencies provide non-medical personal care services that allow individuals to remain safely in their homes while receiving assistance with daily activities.
Services provided by homecare agencies typically include personal care assistance (bathing, dressing, grooming), companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation to appointments, and respite care for family caregivers.
In Pennsylvania, homecare agencies are typically regulated by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and generally must maintain a Home Care Agency License or Home Care Registry License. Pennsylvania requires licensure for Home Care Agencies and Home Care Registries.
Payment Options: In Pennsylvania, Medicaid may help pay for homecare services through programs like Community HealthChoices. These Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waivers help eligible individuals receive care at home instead of in an institutional setting. Contact Pennsylvania Department of Human Services or visit https://www.dhs.pa.gov/Services/Assistance/Pages/Medicaid-LTSS.aspx to learn about eligibility and how to apply.
When selecting a homecare agency, consider factors such as caregiver screening procedures, training requirements, supervision practices, and the agency's responsiveness to client needs and concerns. Visit Pennsylvania Department of Health for more information about homecare services in Pennsylvania.
Licensing requirements and regulations may change. We recommend verifying current requirements directly with your state's licensing agency.

After the passing of my mother-in-law, the family had to scramble to care for my father-in-law who has dementia. We did our best but needed help. After a referral from a friend, we contacted Home care of America. From the first moment, they were responsive and helpful. Many caregivers were provided until we found the best caregivers needed for him. We had one caregiver who was BRILLIANT! We all adored her and her attentive, kind manner. Overall, Home care of America were responsive to our needs as a family and provided compassionate, competent care!
Homecare of America caregivers have been nothing but excellent! All the caregivers have had real life experiences working with aging parents. I like that the caregivers consider themselves to be part of a team that wants to help us provide a caring and comfortable living situation for our aging parents. They cover for each other and truly like helping people. Those that manage the business parts are also caring and professional. They come from a "been there" place. We feel that our parents are in good hands when Homecare of America are taking care in our place.
Was in need of someone to help take the load of working and caring for me and Homecare of America stepped up to help. For a few hours, several days a week Home care of America would come to our house and assist me with basic caregiving tasks and sit and spend some time with me so that my son and daughter-in-law could get a little respite. I am grateful to them for their service and attention.
The difference is in the quality of the caregivers. Most agencies are all run the same way. The ones getting help usually are the ones who suffer the most. At Homecare of America, The caregivers care. The management cares. The receivers are blessed.
I have an elderly mother who moved to Northeast Philly. She had a tendency to isolate herself and not make much of an effort. After they entered her life, she is thriving, and actually has a social life now. She hardly has time to fit me into her schedule. I highly recommend this organization. I feel like they really care, and that is so hard to find these days.
