Lower Cape Fear LifeCare

Lower Cape Fear LifeCare (formerly Lower Cape Fear Hospice) was founded in 1980 by a group of volunteers who wanted to bring hospice care to those in New Hanover County. Since that time, the nonprofit agency expanded into Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Onslow, and Pender counties in NC; and Horry, Georgetown and Marion counties in SC, after merging with Mercy Care Hospice in Myrtle Beach in 2014. Lower Cape Fear LifeCare offers hospice care, palliative care, grief care (for adults and children), Healing Arts, and community education. It is the only hospice in the region to operate inpatient hospice care centers exclusively for their patients and families. Lower Cape Fear LifeCare has been awarded Hospice Honors, and Hospice Honors Elite by Deyta. The agency is also a Level Four Partner in the We Honor Veterans program. No one is ever refused care based on their ability to pay.
