Georgia Mountain Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Jasper, Georgia and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.

My farther was diagnose with als and EVERYONE that we met from here was absolutely amazing. When my dad's time came, they made sure he wasn't in pain and left this world peacefully surrounded by is family. Georgia Mountains Hospice is by far the most outstanding and caring group of healthcare workers I have ever encountered. Dealing with end of life issues is very complex, and the level of empathy and compassion I have witnessed being shown to all patient’s and families, no matter the situation, is truly amazing. North Georgia is blessed to have such an incredible resource to serve their families.
In the brief time Mom was in hospice Elaina & Misty took great care and responded quickly when needed. Misty was there within 20 minutes of Mom's passing to help comfort us all. You can't go wrong in using their services.
GMH cared for my father when he was dying from injuries suffered after a fall. Their care and compassion showed in each person who cared for him, including the nurses, CNAs, Chaplain & MSW. We moved my parents to Georgia, specifically, so they could be cared for by Georgia Mountains Hospice. They came highly recommended by many locals and now I am recommending them, too.
Promised us many things including providing services for my dad but evidently, he was not dying fast enough for them because they never came out to see him and very ugly informed us several times they wanted their equipment back. These people have no compassion nor do they know what they are doing. Sad to say my dad died April 2. If you value your loved one do not use or donate to this organization.
