Symponia Hospice
Symponia Hospice
Symponia Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Decatur, Georgia and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

Reviews
Symphonia Hospice in Decatur, GA was truly a blessing for our family. From the first phone call with Alan, who was kind, patient, and empathetic, to the daily visits from their amazing nurses, every moment was filled with care and compassion. Special thanks to Rochelle, Apriyell, Lois, Haseena, Donna, Nikki, and others — each one treated my mother with grace and tenderness. We also loved the special services like pet therapy and sound therapy, which brought so much comfort and joy to my mom in her final days. The thoughtful touch of Alan bringing a beautiful orchid after her passing meant so much to us.
They treated my father horribly. We reached out to them multiple times for help, but they never sent anyone to assist him. They failed to ensure his comfort, and it was only his CNA, Delia, who showed genuine care. I will always remember her for that. The nurses were appallingly neglectful; whenever we called for help, they ignored our requests. This level of service is unacceptable.
I cannot express enough gratitude the way Symponia treated not just my ailing dad but also myself and my mom. Every person we encountered had so much compassion, patience and understanding. I truly love Symponia. Many thanks to Allen Novoselsky and Rochelle for taking care of us. Thank you so much.
I cannot express the level of care this agency provided. My mother transitioned this week and I would not be standing if not for them. I never had a issue with anything or anyone. If my mother needed anything, they were on top of it. I could always reach the nursing staff (who soon felt like family). They treated and dealt with her with such professionalism and love. They make sure you (as a caregiver) are doing well also. No one understands the weight of the task we have chosen to perform. This agency does their very best to LIGHTEN the load in anyway possible. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Did I say thank you? Amazing!!!
I reached out to Allen Novoselsky at Symponia back in September 2024 about my sweet mother Gail. She suffered from Alzheimer's and had moved in with us during the summer of 2023 from Naples. She was not in the late stage as of yet, but I wanted to build a relationship with Hospice beforehand. Allen called me back within minutes and was so friendly and open to coming for a visit as soon as possible. He arrived at my home the same week to evaluate my mom and discuss services. Allen was extremely personable and professional. He got right to work and was able to set my mom up with many services after reviewing her medical records. I immediately had the sense that he was happy to be able to provide these services to my mom early, verses waiting until she was bed-bound. I knew after he left that I had made a very good decision to get the ball going with Symponia. There was music therapy and a visit each week from a lovely nurse named Jennifer. Numbers were exchanged for IF and WHEN I had questions. They even assisted in helping me set up a lovely respite for my mom in November at 'The Yellow Brick House' for a weekend so I could take my children on a trip. They handled everything and my mom loved the getaway! In the coming months, I did not feel alone or defeated. I had a village that knew exactly what we were all going through. I had contact with the social worker Niki who checked in on me appropriately. Chaplain Tina came out, she was wonderful. They even supplied us with a volunteer from Emory who was always willing to sit with my mom for a few hours when asked/needed. But. Come January, my mom quickly declined. She was bedridden and no longer eating. It all happened very fast especially when it's an early diagnosis such as my mom, 60ish. From then on, nurses came every day with a smile, supportive words and did everything to make my mom comfortable and keep her clean. I couldn't get over the dedication and love that they were showing to all of us. My mom passed away extremely peacefully, no pain, no aspirating or discomfort. It was exactly what I wanted for her-just to be peaceful and beautiful. I will always be grateful to everyone at Symponia for their unwavering support, and sincerity. They were a gift to my family.
