Reliance Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Palm Desert, California and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.

Hard sell. Day 1 of hospitalization - started aggressive sales-like pitch which continued day after day. Dishonest. High pressure "salesman", George, lied directly about the flexibility of hospice care and made promises that he had no intention of keeping. Hospice nurses were commendable. Nightmare organization overall.
They help my moms boarding care facility. After my father passed my mom decided to close it. While we were operating reliance hospice was one of our favorite hospice to go to. They responded quickly and above all they went above and beyond their call of duty. We highly recommend this company to those looking for the greatest quality care that hospice offers. We will be spreading the word to all our friends and family when they are looking for the best quality hospice will and can provide. Thank you to all the reliance team, we will never forget what you did for our families that want to keep love ones home with during their end of like care. We truly appreciate always keeping an open line of communication.
Reliance is cruel, uncaring, not compassionate, and cares only for their paycheck from the government! Our cousin was suffering a very long and painful death, along with major personal sanitary problems during hospice. California is a right-to-die state and Reliance blocked our family's efforts to let our cousin die in peace and dignity. Their rude and condescending "social worker" came once a week for 15 minutes and determined that our cousin was not "lucid" enough to make her own decision. Our family discussed the plan with our cousin in person and on the phone, and she agreed that she had "had enough." Reliance's MD, who never visited, instructed that he would not recommend her request. We were about to take legal action against Reliance when mercifully God took our dear long-suffering cousin. DO NOT USE RELIANCE HOSPICE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DYING FAMILY MEMBER!
Reliance Hospice has been a great experience for my community. The entire team seems to be on the same page. The nurses have genuine concern for the residents they care for as well as being being well informed of the case they are assigned. The other team members of Reliance such as the community liaison and social workers are very polite, knowledgeable, helpful and down to earth. They make you feel that they are there for you and your loved one at all times. If you are in need of hospice care for a loved one I highly recommend Reliance Hospice.
