Caris Healthcare is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Springfield, Tennessee and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.

We needed the services of Hospice for my father’s end of life. Shannon gently did our assessment while he was in the hospital late afternoon before the transfer happened the next morning. Everything we were told to expect happened right as we were told it would. The caregivers were kind to us and gentle with Daddy. What a valuable service to be provided to clients and their families. What a calling for the caregivers to have and to share with those in need. My deepest appreciation for the sweetest hearts that crossed our path at a most difficult time.
My son was a patient of Caris Hospice and from the onset the Caris Team took us all under their wing and into their heart. Caris provided the most professional and comfort focused care to our son. Although my father was only on hospice for a few weeks, everyone we dealt with at Caris went above and beyond to make the experience comfortable.
