Big Bend Hospice
Big Bend Hospice
Big Bend Hospice is a Medicare-certified hospice provider serving Tallahassee, Florida and surrounding areas. A Medicare-certified hospice provides comfort care and support services to patients with terminal illnesses and their families. Hospice care focuses on quality of life rather than curative treatment.
Hospice care is available to patients whose physician certifies they have a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less if the illness runs its normal course. Patients may receive hospice care at home, in a hospice facility, nursing home, or hospital.
Medicare-certified hospices must provide all four levels of hospice care: routine home care, continuous home care for periods of crisis, general inpatient care for symptom management, and inpatient respite care to give caregivers a break. Care is provided by an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers.
Medicare covers hospice services with no cost to patients for most services, including medications for symptom control, medical equipment, and 24-hour access to care. For more information about hospice benefits, visit Medicare.gov. Compare hospice providers at Medicare Care Compare.
Quality data and provider information are updated periodically by CMS. We recommend verifying current information at Medicare Care Compare.

My father-in-law was placed on Hospice on 9/16/25 while at Doctors Memorial Hospital and right from the start, they all were so caring and supportive towards all of us. They explained everything and answered any and all questions. They went above and beyond for my father-in-law, from doing a small Veterans Service for him and giving him the most beautiful Navy Blanket and Certificate to ensuring everything would be taken care of. Everyone we spoke to was so sweet and caring. There really are no words to truly express our feelings and gratitude towards towards all the staff. Not only did they care for my father-in-law, they made sure his family was alright. They were just amazing for the short time they helped my father-in-law before his illness took him from us.
I highly recommend Big Bend Hospice, their customer service is second to none, the quality of caring is consistently outstanding, exceeding my expectations every time. I was completely impressed with their professionalism and customer service. Thank You ALL!
I really can't say enough for how wonderful big bend hospice was while caring for my father in law, he was placed in their care on 9/16/25 and unfortunately passed away on 9/19/25 due to his illness, from the moment they took over care from the doctors memorial hospital in Perry, Fl they did not disappoint. They were absolutely amazing starting with Brenda our admission Rn to Emily the music therapist who has the most beautiful voice to the most beautiful Navy blanket and veteran memorial service done by Derrick Sykes, to the animal therapy, and Holly the RN assigned to us all the way to the Reverend Gary that came and offered a beautiful bedside prayer for us all. ❤️ everyone that we talked to or encountered in this short period of time really made this process so much easier. If I could give 20 Stars I would. God bless each individual and thank you for showing the compassion to our family during this difficult time. I have been in Healthcare for 20+ years and dealt with different hospices, but the big bend went above and beyond anyone I've ever dealt with. ❤️ Laura Johnston Vero Beach, FL
Just phenomenal service for the short time my father was in there care. From the lady that brought the service animal, to Emily that provided the music therapy and Derrick Sikes that did the Veterns service for him was truly amazing. Thank you all for the caring and compassion that your staff gave to my father!!!
They cared for my mother for five months while she was in hospice. They were kind and caring with her and with us (her family). Tiffany called and kept us up-to-date with information. I hope to not need to use them again, but if I did need hospice again, then they would be my first choice.
