Caregiver Job Description
Full-Time $15-19 Hourly or $205 Per Live In Shift Position Summary: Company provides non-medical care and companionship services for older adults (clients) on an as needed basis, as decided by the needs of its clients. Essential Functions: Depending on the needs of the client with whom the Caregiver is working, the following essential functions may be assigned, and may change as the client’s needs change. • Assist clients with ADL care, which includes bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and transferring. • Prepare meals following clients’ prescribed dietary restrictions and the Balanced Care Method. • Change bed linens, wash and iron laundry, and clean clients’ homes (no more than 20% of time). • Conduct basic errands, such as grocery shopping. • Provide companionship to clients in a caring manner. • Incorporate aspects of the Balanced Care Method into your clients’ care (e.g., go for a walk, visit the local senior center, play a board game). • Provide transportation services. •Maintain a detailed record of services provided and clients’ current conditions. • Validate your on-time arrival and departure for every shift utilizing our telephony system. • Alert your Care Manager / Staffing Coordinator about major changes or incidents during your work. • Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth in the Employee Manual. • Maintain your working schedule and alert your manager of any planned absence. • Provide adequate notice for time off – (requested 4 weeks). • Complete annual training coursework as assigned. • Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisors. Minimum Qualifications Required • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance. Within one month of hire, valid New Mexico driver’s license must be provided. No DUI within the past 3 years; no more than 1 within the last 7 years. No serious MVD violations within the last 3 years. (A serious violation is any violation resulting in imprisonment, suspension/revocation of license or a fine of $100 or more.) • Ability to communicate effectively in English verbally and in writing. • Ability to accurately complete all required recordkeeping and comply with COMPANY policies for timekeeping and Plan of Care Administration. • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and to assist clients (up to 150 pounds) with transfer while using assistive devices • Successful results of background check, MVD check and drug testing as required by COMPANY. Working Conditions Caregivers generally work inside a client’s living quarters, which may be a home, apartment or other communal living or care facility. Caregivers may also work outdoors when providing transport or escort of a client
