Full Time Floater: Wed – Sun 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM weekly PURPOSE: The purpose of this Salaried Floater Direct Support Professional position is to fill open shifts and cover call-outs as they occur. This position involves working at different locations with different clients as assigned. The schedule is typically Wed through Sun 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm and locations will be assigned each week or day based on the staffing needs of the program. Employee may accept additional shifts outside of these hours for an overtime rate for hours worked over 40 hours per week, with the prior approval of the Program Manager. Employee may also be flexible to move scheduled hours to cover needed hours on unscheduled days and times, if employee is available. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide training and support in all daily living skills including but not limited to nutrition, personal hygiene, health care, safety, communication, interpersonal relations, mobility, financial management, home management and use of leisure time as outlined in the individual service plan (ISP). May include physical assistance with personal care such as toileting, showering and dressing. Ensure individuals are taking medication according to prescribed schedule. Accompany individual and facilitate participation in visits for medical care, therapies, personal shopping, recreation and other community activities as needed. Provide training or assistance in meal preparation, shopping, laundry, housekeeping, simple household repairs, and financial and medication management as needed. Provide training and support in the areas of social, emotional, physical and spiritual development. Become acquainted with individual’s job setting and key personnel supervising the individual (including job coach, support coordinator, day program, etc.). Provide transportation in privately owned car or by agency owned vehicle for individuals as directed by Staffing Coordinator and/or Residential Manager. Maintain and submit all required paperwork in a timely manner. (i.e.: time sheets, expense reports, daily paperwork) Attend and participate in Mandatory DD Team Meetings and trainings, including cross-training, and other events as required. Complete ongoing mandatory online training modules and maintain all required certifications as per job regulations. Communicate regularly with Staffing Coordinator, Residential Manager (if applicable) and Residential Program Manager (as needed), on individual’s progress, issues and concerns as they arise. May be assigned to perform administrative or other agency-related duties at the discretion of the Program Manager depending on the scheduling needs of the individuals in the program. Other duties may be assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision and the ability to adjust focus. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High School diploma and at least one year of experience with individuals with developmental disabilities. Bachelor’s Degree may substitute for required experience.
