Full-Time Companion Caregiver – Brandywine, MD

Location: Brandywine, MD Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and experienced Companion Caregiver to provide dedicated support to a female client living with dementia. This position focuses on companionship, safety, and assisting with daily routines to help maintain the client’s quality of life and independence. Key Responsibilities: Ensure all medications are taken as prescribed and on schedule Prepare and serve balanced meals Accompany client on daily walks and encourage safe physical activity for exercise Provide meaningful conversation, companionship, and emotional support Monitor client’s well-being and promptly report any changes to family or care coordinator Maintain a safe and clean living environment (light housekeeping as needed) Offer gentle reminders and assistance with daily tasks Assist with scheduling and accompanying client to appointments, if needed Follow care plan instructions and respect client’s dignity, privacy, and preferences Requirements: Experience: Previous caregiving experience (dementia/Alzheimer’s experience preferred) Certifications: Current First Aid and CPR certification (must provide proof) Background: Must pass a comprehensive background check Transportation: Reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance Skills: Reliable, punctual, compassionate, and patient; able to follow instructions and adapt to changing needs Physical Ability: Must be able to walk with client, assist with light mobility support, and perform light housekeeping duties Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 hours per day Some weekends may be required depending on the client’s needs Compensation: Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications
