Caregiver Job Description
Regional Adult Residential Inc., Mesa Pointe Home is an Adult Residential Facility (ARF) licensed with the State of California Department of Social Services.
We offer our residents a warm, cozy home like environment for 4 adults ages 18 through 59 with developmental disabilities who have physical or mental health care needs and require or prefer assistance with care and supervision (Level 3). RESPONSIBILITIES
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support to adults with developmental disabilities in activities of daily living. DSP staff are encouraged to engage Mesa Pointe Home residents on a daily basis in the quest to satisfy the residents with appropriate activities that are scheduled on the activities calendar.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Prepare and serve meals.
Participate in the development, implementation, and record keeping of each residents Individual Program Plan.
Work with the Administrator and residents in the planning and facilitating of activities.
House cleaning.
Assist residents with medication as directed by the Administrator.
Conduct weekly inventory of food and supplies.
Document incidents that occur and maintain current progress notes and data frequency counts for the residents.
Attend in-home staff meetings and in-service training. Be prepared to complete mandatory State training and testing.
Assist residents in all areas of grooming and personal hygiene skills.
Participate in recreational activities in a variety of settings.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
At least 18 years of age.
Have a valid California driver's license.
Basic qualifications of first aid and CPR.
TB clearance within the past 12 months before employment or within 7 days after employment.
Complete background check, drug screening, and physical.
Complete pre-employment requirements including in-house training and orientation.
High School diploma or GED.
Past DSP experience (personal or professional). DSP 1 required, DSP 2 preferred.
