As a member of our resident-support team, the Homemaker is responsible for providing kind and compassionate care to our residents. Homemakers are responsible for housekeeping and companionship activities with our residents as guided by Housekeeping staff . Housekeepers work collaboratively with coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment. Primary Responsibilities: Prepare and assist in the serving and clean-up of meals to residents. Housekeeping tasks – keeping resident rooms neat and organized Companionship of residents – talking, socializing, activities Alerting nursing staff of any safety or medical-needs concerns immediately Qualifications: HS Diploma or GED Experience working with the elderly desired Ability to communicate verbally and understand the English language required Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods of time Ability to push, pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds or more with assistance on occasion Ability to interact effectively with residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, the general public and other staff members Apply today and become part of our Team
