General Summary: Responsible for assisting Residents in their daily living routines. Duties are performed under the indirect supervision of the Nurse or Supervisor, with established procedures and guidelines. Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities Responsible for the “Assisted Daily Living” duties and functions that allow the Residents to be clean and comfortable. i.e., transferring, mobility, bathing, changing briefs, peri-care, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, changing bed linens, etc. Physically ensures the Residents get to appointments such as salons, transportation, activities, and meals, including pushing wheelchairs, following closely behind walkers, keeping track of and responding to schedules. Responsible for the Residents under their care & recording communications for co-workers, shift summaries and care notes. Physical Demands: Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, reach, stoop or sit for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise, move objects/people weighing more than 50lbs Work for sustained periods maintaining concentrated attention to safety, detail, and accuracy Requirements: Required to receive the annual Flu vaccine, excluding religious or medical exemptions. Specific Skills: Reliable and dependable with attendance and punctuality Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to make independent decisions without supervision. Ability to interact tactfully with residents and family members, team members and general public. Ability to make decisions in stressful situations. Ability to communicate directions to all levels of team members, both in writing and verbally. Possesses good character and displays high degree of personal integrity. Displays sincere compassion towards cognitively impaired older adults. Demonstrates genuine concern for the physical and emotional needs of older people and their families.
