Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
We are excited to share the hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $22.50 hour , exclusive of fringe benefits. JOB SUMMARY: Under the general direction of the Program Director, the CNA works under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) and the licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) on the front line of participant care at the ADHC. The Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA) provides health care services and assistance to participants. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Providing great participant care. Greets participants and maintains daily sign-in sheets. Assists with record keeping pertaining to participants. Answering participants needs and determining how best to assist them. Providing physical support for participants with daily activities and personal hygiene, including - using the toilet, walking, standing, exercising and transferring Ensuring participants receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences. Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and urinary and fecal output and reporting changes to Licensed Vocational Nurse and/or Registered Nurse. Recording vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rate as requested by care plan. Examining participants to detect issues requiring medical care, including open wounds, bruises, or blood in the urine. Noting observations of patient behavior, including complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses. Immediately reports to Licensed Vocational Nurse and/or Registered Nurse any signs or symptoms of participants’ illness or other concerns regarding their health status. Greets participants and maintains daily sign-in sheets. Assists with record keeping pertaining to participants. Assist participants in personal care and transferring. Assist in serving lunch and snacks. Assist with group exercises under supervision of Registered Nurse. Assist with recreational activities, playing games, conversation, etc. Assists participants with getting on/off transportation vehicle and documents arrival and departure times. Documentation of all aspects of the nursing care services according to program practice standards. Performs other tasks as requested under supervision and within scope of abilities.
