Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
In Home Aide Job Summary: qualified designated supervisor. In Home Aide services may include personal care tasks, supervision of A paraprofessional, providing hands on services in the home for clients under the direct supervision of a the client’s activities, home management, meal prep, companionship or respite breaks for family or caregivers. Organizational Relationship: reports directly to a designated supervisor Risk of Occupational Exposure To Blood Borne Pathogens: B: Limited Exposure Qualifications: Prefer high school graduate or equivalent. Prefer one year experience in the provision of care/services to clients in home care setting. Must have a criminal background check, other required checks & current CPR certification. Must be able to read, write in English and follow instructions. Responsibilities: The duties consist of a combination of activities, which include, but are not limited to: • Personal care tasks including assist with mobility, bathing/shower, toileting, dressing, eating, continent needs. • Supervision of client’s activities. • Home management tasks. • Other tasks as assigned within the scope of their role. Performs duties according to the written Plan of Care: • Follows the Plan of Care as written, advises Service supervisor if not able to. • Documents each visit per Agency policy. • Communicates ongoing with the designated Service supervisor. • Immediately reports emergency situations by phone to supervisor or office. • Keeps an accurate time and mileage report. • Follows assignments and regulations. • Uses policy manual as guideline for service. • Works within the organizational channel of authority. • Wears appropriate clothing and ID badge when at work. • Participate in the Agency QA Committee. • Notifying the Agency of absences due to illness, emergency leave, normal vacation periods, or applicable meetings, which will affect agreed service with the Agency. Functional Abilities: Must be able to read 12 point or larger type. Must be able to hear and speak in English. Must be able to stoop and bend. Must be able to travel to prospective clients’ residences. Must be able to carry bundles weighing up to 10 pounds, upstairs.
