Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
Duties: - Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing - Help clients with mobility and transfers, including using assistive devices as needed - Provide companionship and emotional support to clients - Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding - Perform light housekeeping tasks such as tidying up, laundry, and cleaning - Administer medication reminders and assist with medication management - Accompany clients to appointments or outings as needed Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent - Previous experience in a similar role preferred but not required - Compassionate and caring attitude towards clients - Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions - Reliable transportation to travel to client's homes - Ability to pass a background check and drug screening Skills: - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively - Empathy and patience when working with clients who may have physical or cognitive limitations - Knowledge of basic first aid and CPR is a plus Please note that this is a general job description for a Personal Care Assistant.
