Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
The Carolton Chronic and Convalescent Hospital is seeking Certified Nurse Aides for full-time evening and night shift, as well as part time openings on all shifts, including weekend and rotating holiday requirements. The ideal candidate is bright, energetic and hard-working and willing to work alongside our team of talented caregivers on our long term, memory and sub acute care units. Competitive benefit and vacation package offered post 90 day probationary period. One year of facility based experience in long term care is required. Ideal candidates should have or be able to present: -good communication and excellent customer service skills with both patients and colleagues -active, unencumbered CNA license, post completion of a state accredited program -able to successfully pass background check and drug screen upon hire -ability to successfully pass a physical exam CNA duties once hired: -provide safe care to patients under the direction of nurses and therapists as dictated by the resident's care plan -ability to lift 50 pounds with knowledge/use of proper body mechanics -knowledge and practice of proper infection control measures during care of patients, -proper hand hygiene, proper use of protective equipment -must provide excellent ADL care; showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, range of motion exercise -adheres to privacy laws in to help maintain and protect private patient information -understands role as a mandatory reporter of any suspicious activity which may indicate abuse -ability to record and monitor weights, vital signs, intake and output -care of patients may include feeding, turning and positioning patients frequently, use of stand and sling mechanical lift devices The right candidate would share in the Carolton's mission: to provide quality care to all residents in a safe and pleasant environment.
