Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility Nursing Department – Job Description Job Title: Nursing Assistant/CNA Job Summary: Nursing Assistants will be under the direction of the Charge Nurse and the supervision of the Director of Nursing, and will be responsible for providing daily care to residents. Principal Duties and Responsibilities 1. Performs routine care for an assigned group of residents including making beds, changing linens, giving baths and personal groom care, caring for incontinent residents, lifting, moving and transporting residents. 2. Serves trays, feeds residents and removes trays. 3. Maintains resident rooms in a neat manner, maintains supplies, removes soiled linen, restocks supplies and maintains fresh drinking water. 4. Measures and records resident’s data including TPR and weight, intake and output of food and fluids, collects laboratory specimens, gives non-medicated enemas. 5. Assists licensed nurses in performing tests, procedures and examinations. 6. Cares for the dying resident and gives post-mortem care. 7. Assists Motion Coordinator with activities to promote resident independence and perform passive range of motion. 8. Assists with admission, transfer and discharge of residents. 9. Communicates to Charge Nurse changes in resident status, needs and/or concerns. 10. May perform other resident care duties as assigned by the Charge Nurse.
