Job Description
IMMEDIATE opportunity for a PCA/CNA to work with the elderly in the home. Primary function is to provide personal care and related services to the client in their place of residence; to assist in providing a safe and clean environment, work cooperatively with patient and family and share observations and problems with the supervisor. Works under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
Responsibilities can include:
Carry out assigned Activities of Daily Living and follow Individualized Service Plan.
Assist with safe transfers (in and out of bed/ chair/ toilet)
Assist with Incontinent Care/ Adult Diapers
Assistance with medications
Assist with meal preparation
Assist with light housekeeping such as laundry, take out trash, clean kitchen
Bathe clients, assist with showers and partial baths as appropriate.
Transport client to doctor appointments, grocery shopping, restaurants
Take and record vital signs as assigned, including blood pressure, temperature, respiration.
Must be able to identify client needs or changes in condition and communicate observations to supervising nurses.
Job Requirements
Hours are 7am - 7pm, on a rotation which includes working EVERY OTHER weekend.
Must be 18 years of age and have a MINIMUM of ONE YEAR experience in home care, Assisted Living, or Nursing Home care
Certified Nurse Aide preferred but not required
Willing to work around small dogs/ cats
Must be able to demonstrate competency either by passing a written exam and/or demonstration of skills
Must pass a national criminal history screening
Must speak clear English, be punctual, and reliable
Must have a successful work history in this industry
