Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Position Overview: The Personal Support Instructor (PSI) is responsible for assisting clients who are in need of human services. The PSI will support goal-setting, personal growth, and behavior modification to their client. The PSi will primarily assist clients by strategizing the needs of the client to the human services available; this includes executing a support plan that will help the client achieve self-sufficiency. PSI is expected to provide clear and coherent daily routines that correspond to the individual’s Individual Support Plan. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Responsible for providing personal support service, which may include assistance in maintaining physical space, equipment to ensure a high quality and safe living environment, and 24-hour emergency assistance. Monitoring the health and safety of all individuals. Implement the individual's objectives and behavioral plans specified in the Individual Service Plan. Documents all support services according to client ISP. Submit consumer notes detailing which ISP goals were focused on during the shift. Assist their client with activities of daily living. Assist in keeping accurate data on each individual's progress. Supervise the individuals on all their tasks, training, and community activities. Assist individuals on all household chores, yard maintenance, and includes keeping the home neat and clean at all times. Performs daily cleaning and vacuuming of the home Attends required agency staff meetings and in-service trainings. Appropriately follow company protocol to administer medication to individuals. Properly document each self-dispensing administration in the Medication Administration Record. Responsive to all emergency needs; reports and assists in the case of an emergency. Communicates all attendance concerns with the supervisor or Human Resources. Minimum 6 months formal experience providing direct supervision for individuals with developmental disabilities (required). Required Licenses/Certifications Since driving a vehicle during the scope of employment is necessary, incumbent should possess a valid California driver’s license and carry automobile liability insurance that meets or exceeds State requirements. A clear Motor Vehicle Record is required. Updated MVR’s may be periodically collected.
