Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
1. Provides a suitable environment for the residents by giving attention to cleanliness, ventilation, lighting and furniture arrangements. 2. Assists residents to ensure their cleanliness, grooming, nourishment, rest, activity and elimination in a manner conducive to the resident’s comfort and safety. 3. Utilizes the proper technique and equipment to transfer residents. 4. Preserves the dignity and self-respect of all residents at all times. 5. Practices confidentiality about the resident’s nursing care activities. 6. Promotes restorative nursing care as directed and instructed for individual residents 7. Keeps alert to the resident’s condition and reports to the Charge Nurse, changes in the resident’s attitude, appearance, behavior, and physical ability 8.Performs certain nursing procedures which do not require professional evaluation as assigned and instructed by the Charge Nurse 9. Practices conservation of equipment and supplies, keeping them clean and ready for use, reports any equipment and supply needs to the Charge Nurse 10. Practices first aid measures as applicable and as instructed by the Charge Nurse 11. Promptly answers call signals/lights 12. Transports residents as needed throughout the facility 13. Assists residents as needed throughout the facility 14.Recognizes and respects the resident’s individual emotional, social, and cultural needs, including their religious beliefs 15. Keeps written notes of specific assignments and records pertinent information about the residents 16. Competent and accurate PC and Data Entry needed on our system, safe and correct log in practices are vital, knowledge of the PCC system must be proficient in level after brief training and orientation St. John of God Retirement and Care Center Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - SNF 17. Completes all documentation properly 18. Graduation from eighth grade is acceptable, graduation from High School or equivalent is preferred 19. Current CNA Certificate 20. Current CPR Certificate 21.Some training and experience in basic nursing procedures
