OPTIONS Family of Services, a local non-profit organization, strives to help people with intellectual disabilities meet their wants and desires as citizens within their community. We serve 200 people from Paso Robles to Santa Maria. Daily, we improve the lives of those we serve. We are currently looking for part time and full time staff to work with our individuals at our residential programs in Atascadero, San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Hours available are evenings and weekends. Part time hours can be flexible and work around other commitments. Prior experience is desired but not required. Community Support Specialists will work with 3 to 8 individuals with disabilities helping them learn to cook, clean and do laundry, as well as helping them to work on their social interaction and behavioral goals. Community Support Specialists also provide support with other personal needs such as passing medication, budgeting and hygiene needs. Education/Experience: Successful applicants must have at least a High School Diploma or GED, BS or previous experience working with people with disabilities preferred. Strong English oral and written communication skills are required. Other Skills/Abilities: ability to successfully complete First Aid/CPR training, Pro-ACT, and Drivers Safety. Must have a valid California Drivers License with 3 years driving experience and a driving record acceptable to OPTIONS insurance company. Must also have a clean criminal record and receive clearance from DOJ and FBI. Physical requirements: Essential functions of this position require that employees regularly sit, stand and walk. Employees may occasionally be required to lift or move up to 20 lbs. $16.50 per hour starting wage.
