Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
The Resident Assistant works as part of a team in an assigned household sharing in the completion of all tasks related to resident/guest care and household operation, including meal service, hands-on personal care, laundry, and social activities. Respects the person-centered care environment by offering choices to residents. Complies with all federal, state and local regulations, policies and procedures, and HIPAA Privacy Standards. Answer’s resident calls for assistance via pager system. Assists the resident with bathing, dressing, grooming, dental/mouth care, as well as proper application of glasses, hearing aids and dentures, toileting and other personal care and hygiene. Completes daily tasks including, but not limited to, taking resident/guest weights as ordered, vitals, making the bed and tidying the resident’s suites. May assist with moving residents to new rooms as needed or as assigned. Provides health care services according to service plans, such as assistance with the application of slings, elastic stockings, splints, etc.; physical and/or range of motion exercises; taking and recording vital signs. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required. Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of IL required. Some experience working in a skilled nursing environment preferred
