Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Performs participant care activities and other tasks as assigned to assist the nursing staff. Essential Duties And Responsibilities: • Communicates effectively with participants, families, staff, agencies and other departments within PACE@Home. • Works effectively in a team setting. • Provides basic nursing and personal care to participants. • Documents treatments/procedures, observations, nursing care and participant activities on appropriate forms. • Participates in teaching/learning process with others. • Engage participant in appropriate activities • Adheres to PACE @ Home Attendance and Punctuality policy. • Only act within the scope of his or her authority to practice. • Meet standardized set of competencies for the specific position description established by PACE @ Home and approved by CMS before working independently. • Demonstrates familiarity with the personnel policies, regulatory bodies and applicable accrediting agencies of PACE @ Home. • Complies in a timely manner to all mandatory inservice requirements of Pace @ Home. • Accepts other assignments as appropriate. Job Requirements: Education: Certified as a Nursing Assistant. High School degree or equivalent. Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification. Experience: Successful completion of nurse’s aide, home health aide or equivalent training course or a minimum of one year of related experience in caring for impaired adults. Skills/Abilities: • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Able to work with adult geriatric patients. • Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize duties. • Ability to work with people from different cultures, ethnic back grounds and religious affiliations. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Ability to effectively handle difficult and unusual interpersonal situations. • Consistently demonstrates responsibility, accountability and dependability. • Able to work with adult geriatric patients. Language Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and document client information. Ability to provide guidance and represent organization in a professional manner in one-on-one and small group situations to patients and caregivers. Ability to communicate effectively with physicians and other medical professionals.
