Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Assists the nurse with resident admissions, transfers and discharges, pre and post op care, treatments. Provides personal care (hygiene, ADL's, ambulation) as assigned Performs routine treatments and specimen collections. reports and documents as appropriate any changes observed in the condition or behavior of a resident. (includes vital signs, I &O, blood glucose, daily weights) Assists residents at meal times and with nourishment. Transports residents to and from various areas, as necessary. Makes regular rounds on assigned residents and responds to resident call lights as needed. Assists in maintaining a safe environment by cleaning equipment and reporting equipment that is out of order, preparing equipment for disinfection, and maintaining stock supplies on the units as directed. Attends in-service education programs as assigned. Documents resident interventions in computerized charting or on paper Assists with resident activity programs on weekends, evenings and as needed.
