Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description
Provides professional nursing care for residents following established standards and practices. Help to maintain a cheerful homelike atmosphere. Supervisor to nurse’s aides and shower aide. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting residents, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires repetitive stooping and lifting. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries residents or items weighing up to 75 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations, toxic substances and other situations common to a nursing home.
