Caregiver Job Description
The employee must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. 1. Passes medications and gives treatments according to physicians orders and in accordance with facility policy. 2. Required to give shift report on status of residents. 3. Required to document in the resident records. 4. Responsible for notifying pharmacy of medications needing to be refilled 5. Assures personal and staff compliance to resident's rights. Assures personal and staff acknowledgment of Mandatory abuse reporting 6. Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized medication cart and medication room. 7. May be required to assist residents with personal hygiene tasks, and other activities of daily living. 8.Tequired to ensure all appointment needs are coordinated, including transportation 9. May be required to develop and maintain accurate accounting of all resident personal property for assigned unit. Identify property and keep inventory sheet current. 10. Required to read, transcribe, and follow doctors orders. 11. May be required to perform duties as set forth on Certified Nurse Aide job description as needed. 12. Monitors personal and staff compliance to all State and federal requirements including but not limited to blood borne pathogens, hazardous materials, infection control, and fire safety. 13. Monitors personal and staff compliance to residents rights. 14. Notify administration in the event staff missing or injured resident missing/ elope or injured 15. Cpr, 1st aide, blood borne certified, Heimlich maneuver training will be provided 16. Monitor Changes in condition 18. Skin monitoring 19.1st,2nd review orders 20. Required documentation completed daily per OARs 21. PROGRESS note 22. Punctual 23. Check CBGs, administrator insulin upon RN delegation 24. Universal precautions 25. Must maintain good hygiene practices 26. Must be able to read, write and understand English 27. Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED 28. Must always come prepared for work to work, full set of scrubs and or scrub bottoms and plain shirt free of any logos or writing, closed toe shoes, and name badge. 29. Oregon Care Partners account with completed certification for state mandated 6 hr Pre-Service dementia care (REQUIREMENT, MUST HAVE AND OR OBTAIN BEFORE TRAINING BEGINS) 30.
