Caregiver Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Must be a minimum of 18 years old - High school or equivalent (Required) - Able to read and write - Able to follow verbal and written instructions - Able to complete written reports and documents - Basic Computer Proficiency (ex: THERAP) - Fingerprint Based Criminal Background Check - Current CPR/First Aid, Physical, and TB/Chest X-Ray - A compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do **COVID-19 considerations: To keep our Direct Support Professionals as safe as possible, we have implemented additional safety and sanitizing procedures, including providing and using masks, gloves, and sanitizers. As of January 1st, 2022, employees must be fully vaccinated according to the industry's vaccine mandate in the State of Georgia. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience working with older adults (1+ years) - Experience working with the developmentally disabled (1+ years) - A valid GA drivers license - Access to a registered vehicle with proof of insurance - Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for seven years JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Must have consistent, regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shift (9 am-4 pm) - Must comply with infection control measures and sanitize consistently - Must comply with program rules and must complete all daily assigned tasks before the end of each shift - Must maintain and clean and safe environment at all times - Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds or more when needed, which consists of pushing and pulling 50 pounds when assisting in the operation of adult size wheelchairs (electric and manual) and frequent bending - Must use company transport vehicles as needed for community activities, shopping, etc., - Must constantly supervise and document for 1-8 individuals as assigned, individually or in a group setting - Schedule and participate in social, leisure, and recreational activities with clients as designated in their goals - Must guide with developmental goals set by the individual served with life tasks such as cleaning, grooming, nutrition, behavioral redirection, etc. - Participation in individuals care plan development (ISP) - Assist with ambulation and transfers using proper techniques and equipment as needed - Must complete daily documentation of client's daily activities, behavior, and interaction with others, and response to choices given
