Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Current open shifts for in-home care client 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM, 7 days a week. Hiring for weekdays and rotating weekends. JOB SUMMARY: The CNA/In-Home Aide will provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living to the client in a manner that meets or exceeds state, federal, and agency expectations, under the guidance and supervision of the professional health personnel to ensure quality and safe delivery of services. All services will be rendered in accordance with the client plan of care orders. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: ● Provide or assist with personal care (i.e., dressing, bathing, care of mouth, skin, nail, and hair). ● Assist with ambulation and transfer with or without assertive/mechanical devices. ● Assist client with self-administration of medications which are ordered by a physician or other person authorized by state law to prescribe. ● Perform incidental household services which are essential to the client’s care at home ● Record and report changes in the client’s condition. Family situation or needs to the appropriate health care professional. ● Provide companionship and/or emotional support. ● Assist or administer bed or tub bath, basin, shower or sitz bath. ● Make an occupied or unoccupied bed. ● Prepare client for mealtime and assist with feeding. ● Take/record Vital signs, temperature, height, and weight. ● Empty/record drainage of catheter bag, record intake. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: ● 1-year experience in healthcare/home care field. ● Completed an approved Nurse Aide I Training Program (CNA) with a current listing with the N.C. Department of Health and Human Services as a Nurse Aide Registry. ● Be able to read, write, and follow instructions. ● A positive attitude towards the care of the sick and elderly. ● Demonstration of maturity and proficiency in performing the necessary job duties. ● Possess a valid driver’s license, personal means of transportation, and a safe driving record. ● Must have a good work experience history in a similar work area/agency. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal communication. ● Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting and extensive bending and standing. ● Ability to deal with stress.
