Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Job Description
Performs direct patient care under supervision of staff nurse. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Carries out specified duties in a professional, responsible manner. Demonstrates knowledge and ability to care for patients of all ages. Delivers Patient Care 1. Performs activities of daily living for the patient when needed (i.e.: bathing, bed making, feeding and personal hygiene measures). 2.. Assists patients with toileting needs, giving and removing bedpans, assisting with ambulation to restroom, assisting to bed side commode. 3 Accurately monitors, measures and records intake and output. 4. Obtains accurate vital signs and weights on assigned patients, records and reports abnormal results to nurse. 5. Ambulates patients using proper technique. 6. Reports any significant observations to nurse caring for patient. 7. Assists in keeping patient rooms clean and bedside and over-bed tables cleared off. 8. Preps patients for procedures and assists in treatment with supervision of staff nurse. 9. Answers call lights and completes task associated with same. 10. Round on patients
