Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
1. Provide medical attention to any resident who may require it including: a. Patient/doctor liaison b. Documentation of taking medications c. Documentation of changes in medication d. Ordering medication from pharmacy e. Acquiring transportation to medically related appointments including trips to the emergency room f. Documentation of physician orders g. Documentation of visiting outside services such as visiting nurses, x-ray, and phlebotomy services, P/T, O/T, speech therapy, medical equipment, etc. h. Contacting specialists when necessary Identifying and follow up for resident's care needs and concerns 2. Perform all duties listed in personal care attendant’s job duty description. 3. Act as the responsible party when the Administrator is not available in respect to patient care, building safety, and facility cleanliness. 4. Provide to the Administrator detailed reports as required or necessary. 5. Report to the Administrator any short comings of the facility or its employees. 6. Be available for on-call duties when required. 7. Meet with the Administrator on a daily basis. 8. Effectively be able to handle emergency situation. 9. Notify the Administrator as necessary for emergency situations in a time effective manner. 10. Maintain a normal, functional, living atmosphere for all residents. 11. Maintain the facility in regard to state regulations and the Administrator.
