Home Health Aide (HHA) Job Description

Position Summary
As a DSP, you will support individuals with developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, following APD guidelines. Your role is essential in promoting independence, safety, and dignity while helping individuals achieve their personal goals.
Key Responsibilities
Provide support with daily living activities.
Assist with personal care, hygiene, and meal preparation as needed
Support individuals in community integration, including outings, errands, and appointments
Implement behavior support plans and follow approved APD protocols
Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of each individual at all times
Accurately document services and progress notes in compliance with APD and state requirements
Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment
Communicate effectively with families and team members
Qualifications
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred but not required
Knowledge of documentation standards is a plus
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to pass required background screening and meet state compliance standards
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Dependable, patient, and committed to providing high-quality care
