Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
Qualifications:
* Possess high school diploma or equivalence
* Possess licensed practical nursing license
* Possess basic keyboard skills and computer knowledge
* Bilingual abilities encouraged
* Must be able to see, hear, read, write, kneel, stand, sit and lift up to 50 lbs.
* Must be able to handle stressful situations
* Possess cognitive skills necessary to understand medical terminology
* Always maintain professional appearance and attitude
* Must always follow the HIPPA rules and regulations
* Must demonstrate patience and good communication skills in dealing with residents, staff, and family members
Job Description:
* Care for multiple residents in the facility.
* Observe Residents Rights.
* Supervise CNA's & CMA's on specified unit
* Responsible for medication administration and treatment as needed
* Observe and report changes in resident's condition to DON and take appropriate action
* Communicate and assist Physicians with orders, admissions, discharges and transfers
* Chart in electronic record with accuracy, nursing care and treatment of residents
* Perform any function delegated by DON and Administrator
* Monitors and audits all resident’s physician orders and labs for accuracy, timelines and completion on assigned unit
* Supervises, evaluates, counsels and disciplines staff as needed on assigned unit
* Customer service skills
* Monitors medical supplies
* Monitors CNA's daily documentation and correctly assess patient vital signs and chart them accurately
* Willingness to work beyond normal working hours and other positions temporarily when necessary
* Use of safety devices for all precautions to prevent the spread of infection and disease.
* Provide Postmortem Care
* Evacuating residents in an emergency referring to fire and evacuation policies.
