Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
• Qualified candidates will hold at least an associated degree in nursing and licensed to practice as a licensed practical nurse in the state of MN. • A current CPR certification is required. • Have the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form. • The LPN should have knowledge of gerontology nursing care. • Candidates must be knowledgeable of or participate in the requirements of the position including but not limited to: professional requirements, care plan/assessment functions, charting, documentation, medication administration, nursing care functions (admission, discharges, transfers, technical aspects, interdisciplinary team functions), personnel functions, resident rights, and safety & sanitation. • Knowledgeable of the federal and state licensure regulation for nursing facilities. • The LPN will complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing staff/following up on work results; assists in state survey compliance on a daily basis; ability to obligate nursing tasks/activities; counsel of personnel as needed; receives employee/family grievances and refers information appropriately.
