Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for care delivery of agency patients, carried out within the scope of practice, defined by the state laws and the state Board of Nursing. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly carries out the day to day patient assignments with the oversight and guidance by the RN. Conducts nursing care within the scope of practice, as well as agency policies and regulations. Consistently follows agency policies and procedures. Maintains compliance with applicable federal, state, accreditation and local standards, rules and regulations. Participates in personal professional growth and development. Participates with the interdisciplinary team to assure coordination of care and continuity of care delivery. Reports all changes to patient findings to the Case or Director of Patient Services, as well as the physician where applicable. Performs all other duties as assigned. Education and/or Experience - High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate) required. At least one-year licensed nursing experience preferred. Language Skills – To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc. Ability to read and understand medical terminology. Mathematical Skills – - Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Other: Unencumbered, active nursing license within Ohio required.
