Certified Dietary Manager

Primary Responsibilities: • Oversee the planning, preparation, and service of meals in accordance with residents’ dietary needs and facility guidelines. • Supervise dietary staff including cooks and dietary aides; ensure proper scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including sanitation, food safety, and dietary standards. • Plan menus in coordination with a registered dietitian, considering nutritional guidelines, resident preferences, and budgetary constraints. • Maintain inventory and oversee the ordering and storage of food and kitchen supplies. • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with regulations. • Work with nursing and care teams to ensure individual resident dietary needs and preferences are met. • Create and manage staff schedules in coordination with facility HR to ensure appropriate shift coverage, compliance with labor policies, and alignment with overall staffing needs • Handle dietary-related concerns or complaints from residents and families professionally and promptly. • Train staff in food safety, portion control, and proper food handling techniques. • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of dietary records and staff schedules. Additional Expectations: • Participate in care plan meetings when necessary to provide dietary input. • Develop and implement in-service training for dietary staff. • Assist in food preparation or cleaning when needed, especially during staff shortages. • Ensure all dietary staff adhere to the employee handbook and facility policies.
