**Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description** A Personal Care Assistant (PCA) provides compassionate, hands-on support to individuals who need assistance with daily living activities due to age, illness, disability, or recovery from surgery. PCAs help clients maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being. Typical responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, feeding, light housekeeping, laundry, medication reminders, mobility assistance, and transportation to appointments or errands. PCAs also provide companionship, observe and report changes in a client's physical or emotional condition, and communicate with family members and healthcare professionals as needed. Successful PCAs are patient, dependable, empathetic, and attentive to detail.
