Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to help others and make a positive impact on the lives of our clients. As a PCA, you will assist clients with their daily activities, providing support that enables them to live independently and with dignity. Key Responsibilities: Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive and nurturing environment. Assist with mobility and transfers, ensuring client safety and comfort. Help clients with light housekeeping tasks, such as laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living space. Accompany clients to appointments and assist with errands as needed. Monitor and report changes in clients' health, behavior, or needs to the appropriate supervisor or healthcare professional. Follow all healthcare plans and protocols as directed by healthcare professionals and supervisors. Ensure the privacy and confidentiality of clients are maintained at all times. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; certification in first aid and CPR preferred. Previous experience in personal care or a similar role is highly desirable. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and empathetic approach. TB Test Physical ability to perform job-related duties, which may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Must pass a background check and have a clean criminal record. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for some clients.
