Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
The PCA is a non-skilled employee that may possess a Certified Nurse Assistant licensure or other formal related training. The primary care expectations of the PCA will be to service the elderly and disabled adults and children. The PCA must have proven experience in supporting Activities of Daily Living (ADL). -Hygiene Care (shower, sponge bath, bed bath, etc.) -Personal Grooming -Meal Prep and Nutritional Assistance. -Toileting and Incontinence Care -Ambulation Assistance Other care duties may include: -Laundry -Basic chores -Errands -Shopping -Picking up a prescriptions To be considered for employment you must: -Must have a GED/High school diploma. -Must be at least 18 years of age. -Be able to read, write, communicate effectively with the client, family and supervisor. -Have a valid drivers license with a vehicle and insurance in your name. -Complete competency training as required by SCDHEC and other governing bodies. -Pass a SLED background check and drug test. -Must be physically capable of completing any if the tasks as outlined above.
