Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
A Personal Caregiver is responsible for providing assistance and support to individuals who require help with their daily activities. This could include elderly individuals, people with disabilities, or individuals recovering from an illness or injury. Personal Caregivers may help with tasks such as grooming, feeding, medication reminders, light housekeeping, and companionship.
Requirements:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. CNA Certification (Preferred but not necessary)
3. Must have previous experience in caregiving or a related field if no CNA license
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Compassionate and patient attitude (patience and active listening)
6. Ability to follow instructions and work independently
7. Physical ability to assist with lifting items for clients and other caregiving tasks
8. Background check and references are required
9. Be able to work independently or as a TEAM member to complete all assigned task or agency goals
10. Must have reliable transportation
11. Attend monthly team meetings
