Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Job Description
o Be willing to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
o Maintain good attendance and timeliness;
o Mandatory use of the State AUTHENICARE call-in/call-out system;
o Ability to demonstrate job competencies at orientation and annually in on-site evaluation;
o Assist member(s) with bath/shower;
o Assist member(s) to ambulate or transfer;
o Communicate with member(s) and co-workers;
o Documentation of work duties;
o Light housekeeping;
o Follow instructions;
o Report skin breakdown, falls or other health related problems to the RN;
o Constant ability to bend and lift up to 50 pounds;
o Perform PCA in-home visits following the Plan of Care, created by the Case Manager;
o Report changes in the member’s physical, mental, or home conditions;
o Provide visit documentation that is legible, and is turned in to the office weekly;
o Maintain a positive, pleasant and professional relationship with the member(s) and their family;
o Maintain a neat appearance;
o Demonstrate reliability in completion of assigned tasks;
o Demonstrate the ability and willingness to work well with others; present a “team member” positive attitude;
o Attend meetings as scheduled;
o Complete 12 in-service hours per year;
o Complete other assigned tasks as requested.
